Problem solved, I think. The camshaft was not off center as I thought, but the old seal was deformed to make it look that way.I pulled the old seal (I used the idea of drilling into the seal and screwing in a couple of machine screws as grabbers, worked nicely) and installed a new one. No leak as of yet and the truck runs well. Its still a mystery as to why the original seal was deformed, it was brand new and I had yet to run the truck. I'm guessing something happened to it after I got the heads back from the shop but before I put them in. Invading Jeep gremlins no doubt.
