If it's like the 22Rxx, the module lives next to the coil. You can also take the part number and call it in to verify.

BTW, did you check your fuses? Might back up a sec if you haven't.

There may be some tests in the FSM for the igniter.
You might want to start with the distributor, it's unlikely that it failed, but it's a good thing to test. Just check it for continuity when it's turning over.

Distributor -> Ignitor -> Ecu -> Ignitor -> coil

The only way I've been able to test ignitor output into (and out of) the ECU is with an oscilliscope, which is beyond the capabilities of most shops.... Maybe there is something in the FSM that's less technical.

Getting the Wheeling Fever
Have you ruled out the coil?
Mine did the same thing......died suddenly while driving down the highway at 60mph. It turned out to be only the coil. No problems since.

i got a multi meter on the coil and the reading was all over the map...one test the spec was like .3 and i got 0.0 or.1 .......the other test was supposed to be between 9-13....it slowly counted up to 20 but was never really stable(digital multimeter)..i know next to nothing bout ignition.....if the reading doesnt match the specs in haynes or the fsm then the coils bad.....ummmm if i have a reading like that isnt that a problem with the multimeter tho?? my mechanic buddy says the consensus at his shop is i bumped something loose...y'all frm texas should have an idea what going fast thru a dip on a lil county road is like <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/notooth.gif" alt="" />..........IF so any ideas on what else to check........i dont have spark at the coil soooo

Maybe a ground wire came loose. I would definately check most of the wiring paying special attention to the ground points.

You should have power to the coil. The coil gets grounded to fire it... I *think* you can ground it yourself (very, very quickly) to verify that it will fire.

Here's an overview of the igition system:
