checked the ground back thru the harness ...turned out ok.........pulled the grounds to the body off an smeared dielectric grease on em n tightened em all back down......power to the module and coil........no spark...now i dont know much about ohms but my mechanic buddy says by the readings i was gettin the coil was fine.........idk im still wondering about the coil...soo guess its the coil or module (ignitor /ignition control module are the same right?)..........anybody ever have a module go???talkin 2 a mechanic in town an he said he reallly couldnt do more n i was...hed jus start replacing stuff........idk ....it died right after some gawdawful bumping....soooo i suspect the coil....but supposedly it tests <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" /> ok any thoughts???????

ok the same thing happend to my truck a little wile back. just pull off the wire that goes to the dis.cap from the coial, and put about 1-2 mm away from something metel. then have a buddy turn over your engine. if there is no spark, tell your buddy to turn over your motor and then turn back the key really fast do it a couple of times. if the coil/ power pack is gone then u may get one spark if u turn back the key fast enough. if you do then al u need is a new coial/ power pack/ wel mine is built into one i'm not shure about yours. but try this it prb. will work.

replaced the ignition coil ....not it ........mechanic i took it too says hed do same as me.....an toyotas are hard to trouble shoot an hed replace the module as one o the first things............opinions......the computers on these trucks....if i found a mechanic with a computer to read codes would that give u specific info or more like the ignition doesnt work DUh??i cant think of anything besides the ignition module......other then maybe i overlooked something in the wiring or grounds...i dont see how tho cuz i checked n rechecked n rechecked lol any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated thanks y'all

ok blah blah bout the codes figured that out <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/zombie.gif" alt="" /> sooo today i found out o'reillys parts stores have these borg warner machines that'll test the ignition module for free ....sooo im all happpy......drive a goood 50miles and weeeelllll seeeee they dont have an end that'll work with MY module........this 5 prong(idk wat else to call it) setup isn't as common i'm told!!!!!!!!!! <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/barf.gif" alt="" /> HA its kinda funny how im jinxed with this thing.......theres a awesome landcruiser place in austin ...bout 100 miles away BUT their numbers disconnected,an their sites down <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/lol.gif" alt="" /> ........ssoooo i'll eat turkey an fri morning call another mechanic to see bout testing this thingi.....then if i order the module fri before 5 i'll be outta $245,an have it saturday an HOPEFULLY be up and running lol.......thanks y'all for all the advice n opinions an all that lol....i now know waaay more bout my ignition then i ever wanted to <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/lol.gif" alt="" /> JK

I NEED IDEAS <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" /> ....i have a new ignition module and ignitor/ignition control module .....and STILLL NOOO SPARK !!!!!!!!!! <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" /> coil:has power and the ground thru the harness checks out module:ground thru harness checks out,one wire has power....stilll have 3 more wires.....are they "returns"??? ..........if i have power and a new module and coil.......where do i go back to now??????the main computer???how would you check that???????insult to injury most of the mechanics around here dunno anything about toyotas........ANY IDEAS WOULD BE APPRECIATED lol im stuck thanks y'all

junkyard distributor installed.....stilll no spark........im stuck........ecu is next i guess?????? is there anything i might be overlooking????? guess ima give using the jumper wires to check codes a shot........tho the mechanic in town said the computer clears itself if the batterys been disconnected........an since i was workin on the ignition it has been .........OOPS ....... <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif" alt="" />
