Presuming the boot hasn't been split for awhile and has spun all the grease out and had gravel tossed up in there, you might be able to get away with packing some grease in there and getting a split boot kit from NAPA or the like. With our cold up here, I kind of doubt the adhesive would work at -50F in a sharp turn, but you guys down there might be able to use it for an interim fix. Just keep an eye on it.

BORROW someone's garage, so you can clean it up right and give the adhesive a chance to cure up. Speak up man!
