I originally ran an MSD unit on my 3.0, it didn't work well at all with the fuel injection. A buddy of mine had an '86 Toy at the time so we installed it on his rig. He did get a little more mpg's/gallon, the throttle response was better, and it didn't stall out as often on off camber situations on the trail or when climbing a steep hill. Another benefit was better emmisions since he was getting a more complete fuel burn.

However as with any upgrade to the Toyota engines don't expect a whole lot of bang for your buck. It usually takes a few upgrades before you start to see a real change in performance, i.e, header, exhaust system, aftermarket carb, etc.,
