The Weber would be a great upgrade. I put one on a '73 VW bus with a 1700cc engine. I replaced the two single barrel carbs with one two barrel progressive. The difference was amazing. The engine ran so much better, and much stronger.

The only problem was that the state of California, in it's great wisdom, would not pass the bus on smog. The Weber was not original equipment. So, every senond year I pulled the Weber off and slapped the two Solex carbs back on, and coaxed it through the smog test. As soon as it passed the Weber went back on. The bus, btw, is no longer in California. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
