I have had consistent problems with Magnacore wires. I have tried them on a number of applications with problems every time. Problems have ranged from not staying on to wrong length wires in there kits making fitment a problem. Magnacore WILL place all the blame on the customer, Every time.

This is what bothers me - I seen it on their website too. This very blatant attitiude that if something is wrong, the customer must have installed the wires on wrong. On the website they go so far as to show pictures of customer reported problems, what their theory is and go so far as to belittle the customer. Granted one of their "examples" was a bit outrageous where the customer was obviously at fault and shouldn't have claimed a manufacturers defect, but still - doesn't give them justification to parade it to the world.

I just wanted a good set of 8 or 8.5mm wires for my rebuilt ride and planned to use NGK Iridium plugs, and already have the new Bosch cap & rotor.

Couldn't find specs on the NGK wires - do you guys think I'd be just as well off with NGK wires?

Besides belittling customers and blaming them for every product problem, I though Magnecor had a pretty good reputation.

Anymore insight group?

The local auto parts store has MSD and Taylor available. The Taylor 8mm Spiro Pro wire set costs a little over $50 with tax, while the MSD set costs over $100. Will the Taylor 8mm Spiro Pro be adequate?

I'll say it again!

Sorry for the echo.

I prefer Taylor wires. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />

The Iridium plugs take very little to fire them, They make the rest of the system have an easy time.
The taylor wires are excelant but the NGK wires may well be all you need with the low current needed to fire them.

I've had some heat aging problems with taylors on SBC's, but they are good wires. NGK's are as good as Magnecor, but you have to be more careful removing them. The terminals are not as robust, but they stay on just fine. Either the taylor or ngk's will be plenty for your application, since there's heat shielding on the 3.0 that all my chevy's lacked.
