it's a harsh alcohol type product. yes it works, but no miracles. I've recently been turned onto using WATER as a engine de-carboner. Yes, water. Go figure. free, evironmentally friendly and available at home. maybe thats why nobody markets it. I ran 8oz through my 85 supra which was carboned up very bad (had the intake manifold off etc) and it runs SO much better now. i'm going to do another dose later this week.

The way it works. Well, think of a motor that has a HG going and a cylinder is using water. when you take that motor apart that cylinder is usually squeaky clean compare to the rest that are carboned up. You want to be careful, as with anything, when using water as a decarboner b/c you can hydrolock the motor. You want to warm the motor up to operating temps, make sure it's nice and hot. you can suck the water through a Vaccuum tube, or better yet use a spray bottle into the intake tract (if you have a MAF your SOL, or get creative). Spray the water into the engine's intake while lightly reving it. don't over do it, but do that for a few minutes. You'll start to get steam out of the tail pipe, and most likely blk dirty steam. do it until the steam/water is clean. I'm still new to this water trick, but i'm liking it b/c a cup worked so well and i have read some about it on the net. and some old timers at work told me about it. No more Sea foam for me. I'm using water. Steam really works I guess.
