Body Damage is Cool
....but hopefully not smile

while assembling my long block I've accidentally rotated the crank shaft....now in trying to fix it, the cam and the crank are hopelessly out of sync any advice on how one should go about puttin' these suckers back where they should be so I don't destroy my brand new motor when I get to turnin' her over?

1. Remove sprocket from cam.
2. Loosen ALL valve adjuster screws fully.
3. Rotate engine until crank is at TDC minus approx 5*
4. Rotate cam until at TDC.
5. Reinstall sprocket.

It may require a helper to rotate the cam sprocket with the crank while you are turning the crank.

like he said you are ok.
top dead center.
timing mark is at about 11:55 am.
cam line up the mark. both cam lobes on cylinder one are not opening the valves.

I think i did the same thing.. all the marks are vertical, and the cam is lined up vertical, with the sprocket vertical also. does it matter if i've rotated all of them a million times as long as they are both still vertical, and the timing chain has bright link on bottom and top?
