Was the axle damaged where the seal sits? or the "tube" where the axle slides in? We had a Problem like that at our Shop, where we had done that and didnt catch the axle being slighty damaged, kind of gouged where the seal sits and it would not seal. Like RobG was saying you could "Roll the Dice" and give it another Shot, But If it were me and I was flustered, take it to a Good shop or even if you want pay the DEALER to do it....
