Optimas are great, I run the RedTop in my Jeep. IMO though, you don't need to spend the extra for a spiral cell battery unless you really want one. I got mine because WalMart was selling them for $134 with a 10 year warranty. I think the prices have gone way up since.

Go for a good brand name and highest CCA batteries you can fit with the best warranty. Deep cycle not necessary either.
