I'm wondering if us other poor suckers need to check the function of our glow-plugs?

I hear some clicking, the lights go dim, more clicking, lights bright, I turn the key and it splutters to life... How to check the function of individual glow plugs? Solenoids? Anyone...? Anyone...?

PS - While PHIL had low mileage at acquisition he is racking it up FAST. Soon, he will feel justified in abusing the beater off road... <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/lol.gif" alt="" />
