-30C this morning in Langdon ('bout 40 miles from Phil) and she started up! Shocked the $h!t out of me. It weren't purdy, but after cranking over for about 20 seconds she spit and coughed and away she went. I turned on the seat heaters, let it idle for about 15 minutes and the heat guage was about 25% when I drove away and my buns were nice and toasty. :-)

I put in brand new Interstate M34 batteries this fall and even when the kids leave the interior light on all night she fires up like a dream. The batteries were about $110.00 each and come with a 7 year warranty. I highly recommend them. I have a much bigger one in my Mercedes Diesel ('82 300SD) and it spins it over like a petrol model.

The lever down and to the right is a throttle advance - nothing more. It's directly connected to the throttle cable. Had one in every JDM diesel I've imported. Pajero, Delica, Terrano, Town Ace, they've all got them.
