OP
Getting the Wheeling Fever
|
For the longest time I have had problems with my rear brakes not working. I tried removing the stock prop valve and going with a Summit valve and also replaced the axles as I couldnt get the drums off the old axles. That still didnt help and with winter comming I wanted rear brakes so I bought a used Disc conversion kit that uses Monte Carlo calipers. To go along with it I bought a 1" Master Cylinder and 2 lb. residual valve.
After getting everything installed and bled, even with my proportioning valve set to not limit pressure I cant come even close to locking up the rear. The pedal is firm (much much better than before) and goes a little over 2/3 of the way to the floor when stomping on it really hard.
I am out of ideas as to what the problem could be since ive pretty much replaced everything but the brake lines. The only thought I have could be the booster but I assume if that was bad, the front brakes wouldnt work too well either.
Thanks!
