Actually, the first set of pistons were stock and I ran a 4lb pully. The next 3 sets were 8:1 turbo pistons. I had a lean fuel problem, im sure. I was running an MSD ignition with boost retard so that wasnt the problem. Most of the pistons broke around the ring lands, but the forged piston shaved off a splinter that amounted to 1/4 of the piston. I will say I always drove the truck home or up on the trailer I brought it on. Mind you, I was all about speed and glory... had that truck up to 100 mph with 35 BFG MT's once, with stock gears. Im getting older now, and spending most of my $ on hunting and fishing instead of 4x4ing. I keep all my trucks in various stages of repair and my step son's drive them more than me.
Ill still recomend a V8 engine transplant before supercharging a toyota 22R.... cost will be compairable and I believe you will be MUCH MUCH MUCH happier with the results.
