I agree that the gas filter should be replaced first. It's on the frame rail under the driver's door. The gas line is under pressure, so read up on how to replace it first.

I had some misfires and stalling due to a short in the electrical harness. It was a thermal breakdown - only gave me problems during hotter outside temps. Monitor if it is temperature related. Does it happen during bumps in the road? It's not common, but a few Rodeos/Passports have faulty harnesses.

Also, a leaky intake manifold gasket can cause stalling and uneven idle. This is a common issue with our trucks with the 3.2 V6. Has that been replaced? Mine was replaced under warranty, but I'mn sure your's is out of warranty by now.
