1qt per 1k miles is what isuzu corporate considers normal. Some use more, some use less. Mine uses less then 1 qt per 3k miles. And mine has the DOHC 3.2 with the poor oil drain back hole design.

I was just told 1 qt per 1000 miles is within normal range. Cars these days should not be down 3 quarts between oil changes. Thats more than just an inconveniance. That appears to be the official dealer line at this point. My 91 3.5L is now being tested every 500miles and I seem to be just within "normal". I have 90,000 on it.
