I only put about 4 to 5 gallons of the 100 octane and blend the rest with 91. More like $45/fillup.

Oohh, got ya. Haha, I still don't think I could afford that! I've gotten to know my bike pretty well this year at school!

Pretty much all gas comes from the same base. What makes one brand different from another is the additive package. My personal favorite is Chevron, because of the Techron additive they put in. Most all gas these days, except for perhaps the cheapest stuff out there, has some sort of fuel injector cleaner, but from what I can tell, Techron is the best of them.

I have no affiliation with Chevron or Techron.

I usually run Chevron 91.

When do they stop serving this winter gas?

Life is definitely more fun with the SC. I cant really complain about the mileage either as im still getting about 17 mpg with it with some occasional stomps on the gas pedal.

I think this is just tragic and should be quite the compelling argument AGAINST installing a supercharger for many people. Having to use 100% octane fuel or octane boosters is just crap. For the most part, gas is gas and most gas comes from common terminals and then specific additives are added. Some unscrupulous dealers and depots switch or dilute octaneÆs, but I donÆt think this is the case in this thread being discussed here. However, I do concur with you all and have found that some fuel brands work better in specific vehicles than others, so choose your poison.

BTW, Shell just took over Texaco, and Mobil and Exxon are the same company now. Anyone for BP?

Here's a quesion (Gadget maybe?)... I once read that you could simply bipass the S/C pully with a smaller fanbelt on older supercharged GM 3.8L's and drive it Naturally Aspirated...
Could you do this with the TRD Supercharger for the winter months when people seem to have the most problems with ping for whatever reason?
