OK I don't know what this part is, and thought someone on here might, so here it is... It has two vacuum hoses on it, and I think two gas lines, but I am not sure...Only one vacuum hose is on it, the other one broke off... Thanks, Matt

I believe it is vapor collector for your fuel tank. Chock full of carbon, with the vapors eventually routed via the vacuum hoses to the intake. I think I first saw one on my `82 Chevy P/U...

ok, thanks, and I was wondering is it going to be a problem that the one vacuum hose broke off???? Matt no. . .just replace it. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> (the other end is the vacuum source, and you thus have a vacuum leak, which isn't generally a good thing) //bc

...add that to the list of things to get... Matt well, sorry, didn't mean to give you the idea to just let it go with my flip response. you should take care of any vacuum leak as soon as possible. and you want that cannister system to work -- both for our environment and so that you and your passengers are not getting overwhelmed possibly with fuel fumes. //bc

that's ok, I knew I needed to replace it, just didn't know what it was, I would just replace the hose, but the piece it attaches to on the canister, broke off.... and the whole trooper is a project, so no big deal... Matt

ok. but in the mean time, if you are driving it, plug that vacuum leak, i suggest. replace the hose and plug it, or cap the vacuum port.
