You are going to have the flywheel resurfaced?

absolutly be very safe with this one i would use the strapes on the frame rail, or how i did this by my self in the driveway was took a screw driver across the floor board hole and looped two strap'es around the tranny transfercase and lower it from there aboout about 2' to a creaper so i could roll the tranny easier.

you can rent a tranny jack, or just lower the truck low enough to use the jack stands that you have available. i would recomend cleaning the tranny to so you can cheak for some leaks and the such.

regardless of how strong you think you are.
It would really leave a mark if that fell that far!

you aint kidding, back then i could bench 250 easy and i could barely lift the tranny combo off the creaper i had to slid it, its heavy, very heavy.

Getting the Wheeling Fever
Gentlemen!
Thanks for the warnings about the transfer case and tranny weightàI will definitely be cautious, and keeping that baby near the ground! Good ideas for support though, I like the winch through the shifter boot idea, I have a come along but where could I anchor it in the cab?

OOPS to answer your question, NO the flywheel is not going to be resurfaced (I know, I know, if it was my baby I wouldà). My buddy is Po and canÆt even afford the clutch and more than a few hours without his truck getting him to work. I warned him!

Boys you should see this rig it looks like it came straight from Afghanistan minus bullet holes and a Kalashnikov. Definitely not a lifted, and locked trailer queen with glossy paint! But the Motor and drive trainàunfunkinbelieveable Toyota bomber! I love these types of rigs!! The kind of owner that hangs on to that dear baby hoping it will last yet another year to be safe for the road!!
