Getting the Wheeling Fever
|
I tried searching this a 100 different ways as im sure its been covered. I have 31x10.5x15 tires now on the stock wheels. The truck looks awfully tall and skinny. I want to some wider wheels im assuming 15x8, but im lost when it comes to backspacing and offset. I plan to upgrade to a 33in tires in the future and would like a wheel i can use with a bigger tire as well. My truck is the bottom of the line with no fender flares and I dont plan to go there. I do want the tire to stick out some. I plan to just get some cheap black wheels from summit or something. Offset/backspace suggestions needed! (maybe some pictures) Thank you!

Hi Robb, For reference there are a couple of pics of my maroon '97 LS with 32s here and here. The rims are 15x8 with 3.75" backspacing. The tires stick out a bit, which me likey. check it out and see if that's what you want. Good luck.

I think so, but I suspect there are all kinds of combinations running out there. Although I think ChrisJ said he was running 4"BS. His Raider is in the same thread. PM him to make sure.

OK, I think I am going to go with this wheel from Summit: I only have the options of a 4 inch backspace and a 4.75 inch back space. How will the 4 inch backspace compare to your 3.75 inch back space, will this stick out farther, or sit in the wheel well more? Here are the specs: Rim Diameter (in): 15 in. Rim Width (in): 8.00 in. Backspacing (in): 4.000 in. Offset (mm): -12.00mm 6 x 5.5 in bolt pattern

That's the same wheel I'm running on my Gen I. It will be in the wheel well farther by 1/4". I think you'll like them, though because they'll stick out ~3/4" over stock.
