I had to fix my windsheild wiper linkage and took off the hood cowl. Left the thing off for a while and a bunch of leaves were sucked into the heater duct. So that's what that's there for!!! How hard is it to access the heater blower on a 98? Do I have to pull the dash? Do I have to take any precautions with the passenger airbag?

Shouldnt have to remove anything to get to it. I forgot to look at mine but from the FSM it looks like the motor is on the bottom so easy to get to and only held in with one screw. Be carefull with it though, the fan is plastic and you dont want to break it.

HEY CHRIS ,YOU DO NOT HAVE TO PULL HTE DASH OR ANYTHING MAJOR, YOU MAY HAVE TO REMOVE THE LOWER DASH VALANCE ,DEPENDING ON YOUR TRIM LEVEL, THE MOTOR ITSELF IS HELD TO THE BLOWER HOUSING BY 4 VERTICLE SMALL SCREWS ,REMOVE THEM AND THE MOTOR SHOULD DROP RIGHT OUT, I THINK THEY ARE PHILLIPS HEAD , ANYWAY IT IS NOT A HARD JOB TO DO. Just had mine out for the same reason. There are four phillips head screws and a plug. Just lay upside down in the footwell and you should have it out in no time.
