Hey I was wondering if the suspension (the non x=reas ones) are pretty much the same as the 3rd gen 4runner/tundra's.

I really can't tell the difference by looking at the two in the front so I figure I'd ask all of ya techie people to help me out. My 4runner is in dire need of a lift as 8" just doesn't cut it...

King has told me that if the suspension is the same as the tundra/4runner/tacoma then I should have no problems... Since I don't have x-reas, i took a quick look comparing the 03 and the 01 and it looked pretty much the same... the coils on my 4runner does look thicker but other than that it looks like it's the same.

Can someone chime? I'd love to just get the king and see if it fits... but really don't want to spend the $$ and find out it's useless and then sell it

Thanks!!!

Lance

ask them to send you a set so you can be the test model. cut a deal with them. if they fit, ask them to give you a discount. but then you gotta worry about the rear.

Since you're in southern CA, there should be several manufacturers or 4x4 shops that would have them in stock. So you'd think you could work out something to test fit them or at least see if the extension/compression lengths are anywhere close to comparable, assuming the top and bottom bolts are all the same. Or just be the guinea pig for one of the coil-over companies to test fit a prototype to your truck.

If you get past that hurdle, you could just do spacers in the rear until some company comes up with new springs for the rear.

on a side note,
I was planning on getting 1" spacers for the front end, Is it not a good thing to lift the front in that manner w/ the x-reas?

yeah i'm in the process of trying to talk to king and see what options I have as I am local to them hopefully I'll be able to work something out and go from there...

as for the rear...
dang I really don't want spacers but i guess i'll have to weigh my options and go from there..

bitchaaz: spacers should be okay w/ your x-reas system... when you change the entire assembly, you'll loose the x-reas system so... that's why i didn't get the sport model... cuz i knew i'd do the upgrade myself anywaY!
