I have a 1988 Trooper II Workshop Manual from Isuzu and this is what it says about the Manual Transmission and Transfer Case: In areas where ambient temperatures of 32 degrees C. (90 degrees F) and higher are regularly encountered, use SAE40. Other areas use SAE5W-30SF

If I can't fix it, it ain't broke.
