I agree, the reason I mentioned Alcan is that I was pretty impressed with the workup sheet they provided; other than making a few measurements, they request you take your jeep to a truck scale and have the front axle, rear axle, and total jeep weighed with all the gear and people the jeep will normally carry on the trail. Made sense for me were I primarily camp in remote areas and carry a lot of gear and tools.
The Alcan's have been stout springs every since '00. I've made some tortuous trail rides since installing the Alcan's: Rubicon, Blanca, Independence, Calamity Canyon, Pritchet Canyon, Lower Helorado, and many other maybe not as difficult trails. For a YJ, my experiences have shown that the Alcan when probably spec'd is an exceptional leaf spring. The combination of the SOA, Rancho 9000 shocks, and Alcan leaf springs provides a more comfortable ride offroad and on the highway than my stock 98 and 05 Wranglers.
At the same time, I'm sure there are other great spring companies. I doubt however you can simply call in your rig's vitals to a guy that takes customers' orders for regular Jeeps and obtain sets of leaf springs that are going to meet your needs; it's more than likely you'll get a set of leaf springs that'll be off the shelf and someone's, who's unqualified, best guess as to what your Jeep's needs are. Just my opinion, and I hope whatever your decision will be, it works out well for you.
