Ok, so maybe someone can help clear up my confusion for me here.

My 1990 22RE 4WD came stock with 225/75R-15's (so says the sticker on the door) but it had 31's on it when I bought it. My understanding is that since it came with 225's, it should have the 4.10 gearing and the odometer should read about 10% shy with the 31's. The confusing part is that the odometer reads accurately - I've measured against highway milemarkers and it's dead on over a 100 mile trip.

Does this mean that the gearing was changed when the larger tires were installed? Or is there a way to correct the odometer for the different tire size and leave the gearing the same?

Thanks,

Matt
