The trooper only weighs 2000-2500lbs. If an ATV winch is rated at 3500 straight pull. WHy wouldn't that be enough? ANd you could get a block and tackle and double your output if you needed more.
Just wondering why you would get a 9500lb winch for a 2000lb vehicle?

See the chart on calculating winch loads...a 4000 lb vehicle can get very much heavier...I don't think a 10000 lb winch (and appropriate shackles, clevises, etc.) is at all overkill. This is why I don't have a winch: I can't afford a good one, and I don't want to kill myself or someone else with an insufficient one.
