That is the whole length of the trooper which should be enough to get you out of most situations.

Are you kidding? rarely is a suitable winch anchor 25' in front of my vehicle (and I live in the wooded east) and rarely would 25' of line get me out of a situation in one pull. Sure, I could make it happen if I had to, but this is way less than ideal. There's a reason most fullsize winchs came with 80'-150' cable for single line pulls. you're saying a 1/4 of that is more than adequet...

Do yourself a favor, if you really think you can hack it with one of these smaller winches, grab yourself a come-a-long (hand crank winch) and try some extractions. These will have about the same amount of cable, same speed, and same pulling power as what you propose. Report back to us your experience. I've done this before, and wouldn't want to spend $200-300 to do it again. When I buy a winch, I want it to do the work, do it fast, and do it without a lot of complication.

yes, I know winches aren't cheap, but this is something you don't want to skimp on. If you're gonna get a winch, make your money count, save a little longer, and get a real winch... you'll pay more in the long run while you block the trail burning out the motor in your little ATV utility winch. you'll thank us later.
