Getting the Wheeling Fever
I retired my 92 Rodeo this weekend and brought home a new '93 Trooper. It came with the original window sticker, and Isuzu calls the color "Cranberry Mica" or something to that effect. My kids have already dubbed the truck the "Purple People Eater". It's a super-clean, bone stock, 1-owner, 100k vehicle and I already love it.

My question: Is the 2nd Gen Trooper a clone of the Rodeo/Amigo/Pup under the skin? What things should I look for on the vehichle? Trouble spots? Also, what easy and economical upgrades should I first consider?

I will be looking to sell the Rodeo shortly as well, but I will post that in the proper forum.

THANKS!

Roll Me Over
The Troopers are much different than just a re-skinned Rodeo. The Troopers all have recirculating-ball steering, where the later Rodeos had rack and pinion. Also, all the Troopers(after '88) used the Isuzu 12-bolt rear-end, where the Rodeos used either the GM 10-bolt or the Dana 44.

All the Rodeos were built in the U.S., none of the Troopers were.

I am sure that others will chime in with more details.

Well, there she is. I have the hub caps in new condition (original owner took them off ???)

Scan of the window sticker didn't come out too well. However, it does show some interesting things, like the 5-speed showing up on the options list? What was standard? Also, the total sticker price of $21,870 !! A base model trooper with almost no options, in 1993? DANG!

Congratulations! I'm not sure what it is, but nothing does me like my Trooper. I recently purchased an '88 with under 12,000 orig. mi. http://www.cardomain.com/my

If I can't fix it, it ain't broke.
