The new fan and controller work great.

Oddly though a few days ago on the way home from work at 70 mph my check-engine-light came on, did not give it much thought, and then a couple of seconds later my air-bag lamp came on and then started flashing. I began to get concerened at that point and exited the turnpike and had to stop at a stop light, so I decided to shut down the engine and re-start it to reset everything, BIG MISTAKE, well the engine would not turn over.

A Highway Patrol car was behind me and gave me a push around the corner to get off the road and fortunately it was down hill and I was able to get the car started and limped the 1.5 miles to my home at about 5 mph sputtering all the way.

The alternator had died and looking bach had probably been intermittent for several weeks. Went to OReily's and picked up a reman unit for $122.00 and the problem was solved.

My new fan worked through all that and the car did not over-heat.

I will say the the Sporty got me home and did not leave me stranded, and considering that the battery voltage was only 6.5 vdc when I got home it is amazing that the sportage would run at all.
