I don't like it without them. Too buzzy and fuzzy in the rearview. I also had to weld up the p/s pump bracket about 5 times, and the original aluminum a/c compressor bracket came out of the truck in 5 pieces. My next 2.6 rebuild gets it's balance shafts back.

A note. Balancing the rotating components will not eliminate the rocking shake that is inherent in I4's, and expecially in big I4's like the 2.6 with it's long stroke. It will eliminate the vibration from unmatched components, but not the second order effect of the second order shaking force (real engineers, did I get it right this time?), which will be present even if you balance the enigne to the microgram. This 2nd 2nd effect has to be offset by countervibrations timed to cancel the inherent effect, provided by the eccentric b/s's spinning at twice engine speed.
