Getting the Wheeling Fever

I bought for my Tahoe but never used a universal unwelded mandrel bent 3 inch exhaust kit with a flowmaster muffler. Would this be total over kill for my little 3.0 V6? I'm not looking to gain any power if any, just would like it to sound better, but I DON'T want to lose any power. Is this a viable option?
