The VSVs are not sensors, per se. They are Vacuum Switching Valves, or thing of them as relays for vacuum lines. Only two real things to consider when swapping them:

One is what their switching mode is, that is are they normally closed or normally open with no power applied. I think most are normally closed then open with power. And also whether they have a vent line (to atmosphere) or not. The ones with the vent then have atmospheric pressure on the outlet line with power off and vacuum with the power on.

And two is what sort of connector do they have. If they have a matching connector to what you need, great. If they have a wire pigtail and a different connector, then you can swap with what you already have. If the connector is built into the VSV, then you'll need to grab the mating connector and splice it into your harness.

You might check and see if the bad VSV is clogged (clean the passages with something like EFI or electronics cleaner).
