ok Im lost I thought if you let hot air into you intake you will lose power I thought it was the cooler the air the better under my hood gets HOT and the setup for this hiflow intake allows hot air from the engine to enter the intake how would you get a 8%-10% gain by letting more hot air into the intake and for $99 I DONT THINK SO I think Ill go to Autozone buy the cheapest cone "hi flow" filter and a couple peices of sheet metal and some pop rivets and maybe a can of spray paint and maybe if Im bored some termal wrap for less then $50 and make a box to put the filter in with a sheet metal duct to let MOSTLY cool air in and cross my fingers for a 5% gain then later on and some mandrel bent pipes for smoother air flow would anybody here be willing to buy it for $75 plus shipping? minus the piping because I could make them easy after I make the first one and paint it just about any color

MY EYES!... use some punctuation. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/lol.gif" alt="" /> I doubt that you will realize a 5% gain just by changing out the air intake. I do agree that these open cone filter set-ups are probably negating the performance gains they could create by sucking up hot engine air. With everything else staying the same, though, I wouldn't expect enough power gains from what you are doing to make it worth your time.

Well this forum is a combination of both; so taking 5 extra seconds while typing up a post to add a period or question mark where appropriate is a good idea. People are nice enough to volunteer their time to answer questions here; its not asking much to make those questions easy to read.

its not asking much to make those questions easy to read. Some people hide their education to look "tough".

I bought this kit for my '98 amigo along with the 3" lift from Calmini for $1050 delivered. LOVE IT. Not much in the way of mileage savings, but a noticable difference in pulling the max-out trailer up the mountains... a 6x10 cargo trailer full of sheet rock should make most SUVs come to a standstill, but my 'lil Amigo chugs along just fine.
But I need new CV joints so I'm now looking for ideas on front axel replacements.
