Does anyone have any tips / suggestions for removal? The thing is located in a very tough position under the intake manifold! I could probably swing the clips and bolt on the front end of the filter, but the back end.. Thanks!! Re: 4 cyl fuel filter removal #772524 12/18/06 03:37 AM Joined: Mar 2004 Posts: 104 Tucson,Az L lawnmowerman Wheeler I changed one on my 97 Taco a couple years ago.I pulled off the drivers side tire and worked through the wheel well.Make sure you use a backup wrench to loosen the banjo fitting.The 2.7 has always had the fuel filter under the intake side of the block! Toyota may have always put it there on the 2.7, but clearly they didn't consider ease of owner access to it.
