I was wondering if the cylinder head from a dodge raider would fit into a trooper? They are cheaper than the iszuu ones so I was just wondering. The raider is the same as the trooper right? If not, then what is it that looks like a trooper and can cross breed parts with it?
Thanks in advance and God Bless.

The Raider and Trooper are similar in style and intent, but are not the same truck. I don't believe any of the engine parts are specifically interchangable, and almost certainly not an application specific part such as a cylinder head.
I do not know of any other nameplate that was applied to a first generation Trooper. Acura marketed a version of the second generation, but I don't think that's what you're looking at. What I believe you are thinking of is the Dodge Raider and Misubishi Montero were the same truck in the early generations.
I'm afraid the only other sources you're going to find for that head will be Isuzu trucks of some stripe or another.

Crap. Oh well. I was hopeing to get lucky.
Then what's the cheapest place you guys know to get a cylinder head for an 88 trooper? I am thinking about buying an 88 trooper, but it needs one of those. Also what about a tranny. It's an auto, but is it possible to swap it for a manual transmission and if so how hard is it to do so. I prefer 5-spd over auto anyday. Thanks in advance

If it is the 2.6 engine, then you can get the head from a Rodeo or pickup truck that has the same engine. Or get a quality AMC head instead. When a friend gave me his truck, I rebuild the head that was on. It blew 2K miles later. I got an AMC head on and has been great for the last 4 years. It's about $500, but well worth it. Not sure about converting auto to manual.

A Dodge Raider is made by Mitsubishi and is the same as a two door Montero.
The only Trooper clone I can think of in this country is the Acura SLX, which is a rebadged 2nd gen Trooper.

Clone of the newer troopers right? Not the old ones.
Thanks for the info.
