Send it up to Canada for Corey to fix.

dang .. I'd love to .

I have some "CUSTOM" 1/4'S comming out and they are SWEET smile

Dang! I'd like you to clean er' up. Little far for me.
I'll be talking to you soon about fenders for this ride.

Those SWEET custom 1/4's wouldn't happen to match the flared fenders you already sell, would they? I've been stareing at those for a while now.

Yeah, Celica or MR2 seats would be nice but I think i'm going to try and stay with this type of seat. IMO the SR5 buckets are pretty comffy with the side bolsters giving hugs and all.

Any experiences with the Yota autos yinz can share with me?

Don't know about behind a turbo, but in my truck I had no problems. Overdrive kinda sucks, but with a turbo helping the HP, you should be good.
They are overbuilt just like their manual trannies.

I picked up an 87 Turbo Runner this summer myself. It had a light knock on start up as well, about 2000 miles later it spun a bearing and is now being rebuilt as is the turbo. The tranny is nice and stout and has the heavier 23 spline output and a lock up torque converter. Mine still shifts very strong at 160,00 miles. I'm going to put in a 268 cam to help with turbo lag, but otherwise the engine will remain stock. These are fun trucks and I can't wait to get mine back. Congrats on the score.

I hope that's not true as it's not easy to route the lines away from the exhaust system....

Main problems are 20 year old turbo and a lack of any flexibility in the exhaust system, which encourages cracking.

Oh yea, they cost a small fortune to rebuild (ct20)

If you put a rebuilt vavlebody from IPT (import performance transmission) you will get better acceleration and firmer shifts... if i had an auto toyota it would be one of the first mod's i'd do... esp. on a turbo...

I myself just bought an 86 turbo runner which looks almost exactly the same. Does anybody know what the ECT with normal on one side, and power on the other means on the dash. I have been trying to figure it out but have no clue. Also, does anyone know if any companies make a pre fab performance exhaust for the R-TE? [color:"blue"] [/color]

the difference between normal and power is the ecu lets the tranny run the RPMS up higher before shifting in "power", i belive.

as far as the oil line thing that was just something i remember reading some were, i think on pirate 4x4 actually, so i have no idea if it is true or not just some thing to investigate in case stuff; ya know what i mean...

I don't know about the oil line/heat thing but I suppose one could insulate the *hot* side of the turbo or the line it's self. I tend to lean more towards dcg's idea of the 20 year old beat turbo.

Also on the starvation thing, I recently took my 200.000+ mile RTE apart and found some crusty oil deposits in the feed line and fittings. It wasn't cloged but definitly limited so take a good look at those if you have the motor apart or turbo off and clean those lines and fittings.

The motor in this one is comming out next week and the replacement block is at the machine shop now. I just need to put an order to EB and it's on.
