Other then the OME 2", coils and shocks, is there anything else to lift my 2003 Montero LTD. (no sport) What tire size can i expect to be able to fit? with those fender flares i doubt i can put much bigger.

Also can any guru out there tell me if i have solid lock or limited slip in the rear? I doubt i have anykind of lock in the front, maybe limited? My Montero is Canadien.

Just reread your post because I had a question, and realized that you asked about lockers and such. All the 2003 Fullsize Montero's have a the Mitsubish whammy cool traction control system, electronically controlled. I have found that it works VERY WELL. I know that the 2002 and older older GEN 3's were available with the oprional limited slip in the rear, here in the US at least.

My question, did you install the lift yourself or have someone else do it. I have been planing on doing it myself. The rear looks fairly simple, it's the front that seems like trouble. Any insite you or anyone else can offer would great!

Happy Holidays!

Michael

I had mine installed by a shop. both front and rear were a pain. I'm glad I did not tempt this in my garage...

It really isnt as bad as you think to do it. I started mine and was done in a half day. If you have a spring compressor and simple mechanical knowledge then it isnt that bad at all. Just have to unbolt the fronts and then compress them with the spring compressor and re-install in reverse order. The rears are even easier than the fronts cause the springs arent around the shock...so just compress the control arm and unbolt the shock then let out the arm slowly and re-install the spring and voila...done. Only thing you need to be carefull with is the spring compressor cause I have seen springs fly faster than you can see and that wouldnt feel too good if one came loose and hit ya So just be carefull and take your time and its pretty simple...will save ya some dough

There is a step by step write up on the web somewhere that I used the first time when I did mine and its on a 2001 that was a good detailed explanation....cant find it right now though cause I am not at my comp......I think Alex might chime in if he has it though for ya...or someone else

I had 285/75-16's on mine with the stock setup only had a little rubbing. I would think you could fit a little bigger, maybe.

Would you mine posting pictures?

And were was the rubbing? Rear, front, fenders, only when rear are fully turned?

Nice to have more Gen 3s on board. I've got 285s with no lift on stock wheels. As far as rear you don't have either one just plain open diff but good traction control system.

I have a sticker on the side of the center console talking about center locking differentiel, so i would think i have but exactly what type and where, only rear? I'd like to find exact spec of my canadien verison of the truck but i haven't found anything. I may just email mitsubishi canada.

I have the OME lift on mine. The HD all around and I really like it. Does much better offroad with the springs and handles towing loads better too...no rear end sag.

I'm thinking about because i think stock shock sucks, but i'm concern about going HD, is it much stiff then stock to a point being unpleasant?

I seem to have bigger fender flares then the US version or the picture of the white one in this thread, here is a pic from my canadien version. You still think 285/75 would fit?
