MAKE CERTAIN YOU HAVE THE LOWER INSPECTION COVER OFF, THAT IS BOLTED TO THE FRONT LOWER EDGE OF THE TRANS BELLHOUSING, IF IT IS THERE , IF IT ISNT THERE , IT SOUNDS LIKE YOU HAVE A STUCK PILOT BEARING , RUSTED ONTO THE INPUT SHAFT, IF IT IS COMING BACK THAT FAR AND YOU ARE CLEARING THE UPPER DOWEL PINS , YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO MOVE THE TRANS UP AND DOWN FROM THE REAR AND PULL BACK AT THE SAME TIME TO GET THE BEARING OUT OF THE CRANKSHAFT END , IT WILL COME BACK FAR ENOUGH TO HIT THE BACK SIDE OF THE CLUTCH FINGERS AFTER IT CLEARS THE CRANK END , NOW THE FUN STARTS , YOU NEED TO GET IT BACK FAR ENOUGH TO BE ABLE TO GET A 12 MM OFFSET WRENCH IN THE BOTTOM OF THE BELL HOUSING OR THRU THE STARTER HOLE, AND REMOVE THE PRESSURE PLATE BOLTS ONE AT A TIME, AND THEN ROTATE THE ENG UNTILL THE NEXT ONE COMES UP , THERE ARE SIX OF THEM, NOW YOU MAY HAVE TTO PRY THE P.P LOOSE FROM THE FLYWHEEL TO GET IT OFF THE ALINGMENT PINS, ONCE YOU GET THE P.P LOOSE THE CLUTCH ,P.P. AND THE PILOT BEARING WILL ALL COME OUT TOGETHER ,, JUST BE CAREFULL OF THIS THING, IT IS A HEAVY TRANS WITH THE TRANSFER CASE ON THE BACK END, AS IT IS ALL CAST IRON FOR THE T/C/ , IT IS ESP HEAVY WITH THE CLUTCH AND THE P.P. STILL HANGING ON THE FRT END, WHEN YOU PUT THIS THING BACK TOGETHER PUT A TINY BIT OF ANTISIEZE ON THE TIP OF THE INPUT SHAFT WHERE IT GOES THRU THE PILOT BEARING , SO THIS DOESNT HAPPEN AGAIN...
