garydh2000 ::

it's probably worth checking out the relay (also often called idler) components. that assembly attaches to the frame and can be thought of as a dummy steering box. as such, excessive play there would have essentially the same affect as slop in the steering box.

anyway, here's a good site for you to look up parts and get knowledge before calling parts guys (it's a honda dealer so it's passport section has the exact same parts and numbers as the isuzu dealer for your rodeo.

you can see they (as does isuzu parts) call the part that actually bolts to the frame:
[#39] 8-97039-326-1 LEVER ASSY., RELAY

it may or may not come with the actual relay lever which is
[#124] 8-94404-000-5 LEVER, RELAY STEERING LINKAGE

you can also use this site to give you an idea about the ball joints and the other parts. . .

Idler Arm.........I had the same issue and it tightened it right back up. I want to say it was $190.00 through Merlin @ St Charles, Isuzu.

Since this has now surfaced twice this week, no.

Jerry is Jerry Lemond, or JLEMOND, our esteemed Isuzu Guru.

St. Charles is St. Charles Auto in MN. www.stcharlesauto.com

No connection between the two.

Michael

Since I don't frequent this board very often for this very reason, or only in MODERATION and don't have the time or interest to read every post my sincere apologies go out for not knowing this earth shattering info. Thanks for answering it though.

A little touchy today, eh Jeff?

You just got to be the lucky guy to ask that same question this week.

While it not directed specifically at you, I still think you've been around long enough to know who Jerry is. I am actually surprised you have not used his advice or bought parts from him, as have most of us here.

Michael
