I suppose if you're sitting 5 ft. behind someone on the highway and you want to pass then you might have an issue but I always leave lots of room (no matter what side of the car I'm driving on) and I can see past everything without moving much further into the lane than normal. Most of the time you can see through or over the vehicle in front unless it's a semi-trailer and then you want lots of room anyway.
With the Pajero it's preferable to do a slingshot pass (utilizing all of that immense power) so you have to time your passing so that you have old "Mo" on your side when you reach the vehicle you want to get past. So you need to start way back when you can see fully down the oncoming lane.
In other words: I see no problem at all with passing safely on the highway.
