I was wondering if anyone could enlighten me concerning the hose and it's name/use that hangs down near my oil filter on my C223 that drips oil (not much a few drops) everytime I shutdown and that blows a little white smoke while in operation.
Should I be worried? Is this related to a crankcase ventilation valve sticking perhaps? Or am I confused?
Your humble up-and-coming mechanic, Dean

That is a crankcase vent hose. You might want to wipe up the oil drips every now and then. Its not a big deal. Best part is that side of the truck doesn't seem to rust as fast as the left side. :-) Eric

Isuzu issued a TSB and offered a kit to catch this drippage. There's a scan of the TSB here...it's the last two scans. Jack
