AFAIK, the only axles under Isuzus are either Isuzu Corporate, Dana 44, or GM 10 bolt. At least for the "true" Isuzus. Now those rebadged ones, I'm not sure but seeing as how they're rebadged Chevys, but I'm pretty sure they're a GM axle.
Richard I believe the Chrysler listing is incorrect in that ad. IF you look up Chrysler axles in the Powertrax application guide, that is not the part number that comes up. I figured it was probably incorrect too, but that's still a kinda scary thing when you consider the hassle of getting it sorted out if they send you the wrong thing. Ok, Thanks Glad I didn't go ahead and get one... I might do some more looking around, maybe I can find one somewhere else that will actually fit.... Matt

You may have misunderstood...the part number for the locker you linked to is correct for your Isuzu, but not for the Chrysler axle also mentioned.
But, as I said, AFAIK the Isuzu version has been out of production for a long time, so they likely will not have one to sell you...but it can't hurt to ask, either.

Unless someone has changed it, you have the 10-bolt rear and 8-bolt front. The 12-bolt didn't appear until '88. So, what is the gear ratio on these? 4.30, 4.10, 4.56, ...? AND more specific, can I swap a Gen2 rear axle into my 86?

the Powertrax for the Isuzu 10 bolt went out of production 5 or 6 years ago when the company was bought by Richmond Gear................that was the part number (and it is still listed in their parts list), but is no longer available, nor do they have any intention of making them again. You do realize Independent4x is now making a 10 bolt and 12 Bolt Locker for Isuzu. http://www.4x4wire.com/forums/showf...mp;amp;sb=5&o=14&fpart=1

can I swap a Gen2 rear axle into my 86? I think the 92+ axles are too wide. But you can swap a 12-bolt from a later 1st gen (~88-91) fairly easily. You'll get disc brakes out of the deal, too. Gear ratio should be 4.56, but I am not a 1st gen expert.

Thanks for the input, I appreciate it. Can anyone verify these staments? Since there is an Aussie Locker for both the 10 & 12 bolt, It seems that the 12 bolt would be a much stronger axle and that disc brakes would be good too. Making it worth the time to swap axles.(if I could find axles with matching gearing) What do you guys think?
