I think by now everyone thinks I like to whine...this place is slow so this will at least breath some life into it a bit.
Is it me or are these seats like sitting on a concrete bench for 4 hours?
I think after 187k miles on my truck they are tired and or shot, I have the 60x40 split bench and boy lemme tell you it aint that comfy. Was thinking about getting it redone-hopefully they can add better padding or something but I dunno what to do in all honesty. Seat covers may help but I doubt it..
Anyone know how much a job like this could cost-I mean for 500-800 bucks it maybe worth it unless I can figure out something else. Swapping seats in would be nice but I really do like the actual seat design itself...
I already tried every little seat/back support thing wallyworld has. All had to much cushin and made me sit 4_ inches further up which wasnt good..
I think I need cheese with my whine lol..

Yup, sounds like you need to change your pad. The one between your legs.

I have a bad back. (I am almost 35 and have had two surgerys on my l4-l5 disc) I loved the truck and could not stand the 60/40 bench. No support at all. I mounted a recaro seat on a custom bracket (from wedge engineering) and have put 55K miles on it and it feels great! Used to be I could only go 45 minutes to an hour behind the wheel before needing to stretch, now I can go till either I need to tank up with gas or empty the bladder. If you are ever up my way you are welcome to check it out. This is the contact info for wedge engineering The only place in the world to get adapter brackets is Wedge engineering from a guy named danny. The part number is DR 1088 and cost 88.67 shipped from CA to NJ wedge is at 562-633-1663 email: wedge90805@msn.comThis is about 2 years old though. You can swap in either recaro or corbeau seats with minimal effort, but recaro is going to cost $$$ Jeff

Jeff,
What Recaro seat did you get and from who? I've been thinking about this for some time. I've reworked the bench seat by taking it apart and adding some foam padding for extra seat and back support, but it's still kind of pathetic. Maybe it's time to take the plunge. Thanks.

Corbeaus sells brackets as well, same price, however the aftermarket brackets are not up to the task of hard landings <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />, sliders tend to bend a bit making it harder to slide them back and forth...
Corbeau and Recaro ive found are very comparable, only complaint about those racing style seats is the side bolster wears out on the driver side, have new foam for mine ready to go back in (warranty covered the worn foam pads) if i could do it all over again, it would be mastercraft suspension seats, those are $500+ each though...

I got my seat from a company called Overseas in Canada, I just gave them a call and they are still in business. http://overseas-auto.com/Home/index.htmlI found my seat at overseas and my contact was named John, and he got me a screaming deal on a seat I didnt know I could afford. Got it to me super fast too.... they are out of vancouver (800) 665-5031 I picked up what looks like a earlier version of the Orthoped. The thing that saved me a bunch is that I purchased a right seat instead of a left. This meant the controls for the power adjustment are on the left of the seat and you go over them entering and exiting the truck (instead of the right side) but this saved me 5-700$ (so I got the heater, vent fan and power lumbar) which was well worth it!! If you dont mind having the "other" seat from a pair, you can get a rocking deal. Let me know if you need more info

I know it will be hard to find because it took me several months to find a part of T100 buckets, but the wait was well worth it. The bench seats are like sitting on rock compared to the buckets and after going for a ride in the buckets, my first impression was that I have improved my suspension system, it felt as if the whole truck ran better. I located my buckets through car-part.com. It cost me about $125.00 and was the best $125 I've spent on the truck.

Well a cushin just doesnt work.. I really do like the benches the best though (style, not comfort)..maybe I can source a bench out of another truck or see about reupolstering them in the future and see if they can pad them more.

Yep, those split bench seats realy suck. I had mine in the upholstery shop last week. 50 bucks and they added some foam. It did help some- but it is still a sows ear.
I have heard of people getting a split bench out of a Tundra and they like it so I have heard,
