Clutch release Hose? Do you mean the line attached the the Clutch Release Cylinder (more commonly called the "slave" cylinder)? As for the power steering pump pulley I've never tried. I would use the proper puller though, as that pulley would be pretty easy to mess up, I would think.

I just left the pulley on. It moves out of the way easy enough. You can buy a pulley puller from the auto parts store if you really want to get it off.

no need to remove it.
take the other bolts loose and the one that you are after will back out as the pump comes off.

ok so i am almost done(i think) with the tear down, but ive run into a few problems. first, how did you guys get the down pipe for the exhaust off? ive had problems reaching the top bolt. also, the right fuel rail has a steel pipe that i cant disconnect. how do i remove this one? hopefully this is enough info, and thanks for the replies

Oh ya, that part! Wow, that was fun to say the least. I now have headers so I do not have to worry anymore but for you sir. I stripped every bolt trying to get those da$# things off the first time. I knew I was getting a knew exhaust so I cut the down pipe and ripped the passenger side head off with the crossover still attatched. A little force was used but low and behold there was the pistons finally staring me in the face. If I had to do it again with the crossover and such, and everything was just breaking like it did, I would cut the down pipe off low enough to take to an exhaust shop afterwards to be welded together. I'm thinking you should be able to get the crossover unbolted at the drivers side, and it is not that heavy to just take it off w/ the passenger side head. Saves time by not having to wrench in tight spaces even more to get the crossover completely off. Hope this helps, keep posting, I feel your pain....

Have not thought about that one for a while, got me all fired up again and I forgot about the fuel rail... Do you mean one of the pipes that connects both rails or the one that connect to the very end on the rh side? I could not get that very end part off so I just left it on and moved it out of the way. The rail just sat on top of the charcoal canister until I put it back together.

yeah im planning on just cutting the exhaust now. its so rusted that im not even gonna bother saving it. and about the fuel rail, it is on the RH side. ill get a picture later but i cant take the rail out because i cant bend it. and trust me, this is my first HG change, so there will be a lot more posts.

You should be able to bend that out of the way. If it seems it is hindering your removle of the fuel rail, I doubt it is unless there was a change in design from my '91. Leave it on the rail and move the rail with it out of the way to the side while still connected. Did that make sense? It's just a rubber hose in the middle section right?
