Can you loosen the bolts before the timing belt is removed? Will the belt hold the pully from turning?

That could work, sounds like a good way to go. Put the vehecle in gear and set the parking brake and will probably work. That's a good idea, if I am ever in there again, I will try that.

well luckily i have a buddy who has the right tool to pull th e cams off but my god what a royal PITA. my next question is one of my fuel injector tips is cracked. is it best to buy an OEM set or is there an aftermarket set that is good? and also i heard that its bad to use the old head bolts. besides the "stealer," where can i pick up a good set?

There are different injectors available that supply more fuel. I guess it depends on how far you want to go. RAUCH are you reading? This sounds like one for you. Concerning your head bolts...yes, new ones only. If you search around there is a gentleman by name of engnbldr that sells the proper application. After reading all his packed with knowledge posts and genuine human spirit, (that many have commented on), I would not look anywhere else. I would have used his products if the machinist I was working with did not have his own sources that he obviously has established his business with. Give him a call too and tell him what your doing, he is the guru, and has the service to match. Click here~engnbldr.com Have fun, when this is all over you will be able to rip your motor apart and put it back together within a days time!

Sweet! It's a big job and your half way there. The assembly seems to go much smoother to me. Keep posting, looking forward to your success!
