Mine were either a 14 or a 17mm. WHATEVER YOU DO, use a 6 point socket, not a 12, or you'll be sorry...gonna reef on 'em. Alternate your turns on each bolt btw. Follow the book.

The 3vze has 12 point head bolts, and they are 12mm in diameter. You must use a 12 point, 12mm socket to get them out. Be careful, make sure you do not strip anything, they are tight and tough to get out. Use a little caution and you should be fine.

well the only 6 pt socket i have that fits is a 13. a 14 is too big and a 12 is too small. the problem with the 13 is it fits but it just spins on the points.

12mm 12 point socket! Not a six point socket, a 12 point socket.I repeat, a 12 POINT, 12mm socket. Read what I post you.

Lots of good Toyota parts wreckers on eBay. Don't know what I'd do without 'em but go broke! <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />

I broke that same part. I just purchased a new one from the dealer but you could search around the wrecking yards for a used one too. When you buy injector seal kits, that nipple part that is broken comes with it. You need to boil the nipple for a good ten minutes or so to soften it enough to sqeeze on the end. May want to buy a couple extra just incase you break one. Is also a good idea to have your injector professionally cleaned, and balanced, they will replace all the parts for you. Also a good time to take off your starter and replace the brushes and what not, alot easier to get to right now.
Good job! Post a pic of the valve side of the heads if you get a chance. Are 5 & 6 burnt?
