Getting the Wheeling Fever
I already have the hangers and some '06 2500 springs. I got the springs knowing they would be heavy duty, but i figured I could take out a couple leaves. Do ya'll think that would work good or still be too stiff? I want it to be flexy and ride nice, but still lift it a couple inches.

the common chevy swap uses 63" springs from an '88-'98 1500. i think your springs will be shorter, stiffer, and not as flexy.

There are several variants of that particular spring.. I think it's in the pirate faq...
I used a 2wd version, I believe 4 or 5 leafs.

My springs were off a 2500 GMC truck. Came with 3 springs plus an overload spring which I did not use. The ride is smooth and the flex is great, but no lift. The chevy springs will not lift your truck. I had to use 2" lift blocks so the rear matched the front.

The lift comes when you fab up your hangers etc.

I do not understand how your hangers will effect your lift unles you add spacers under the hanger welded to the frame and a new hanger?

Well if you fab up your own hanger then you can dictate the height. Within reason of course. If you pull springs from the pack then you will lose some of the lift too though.

I think the discussion here is on the rear springs. I don't think you would want your front hanger sitting low enough to hang up on rocks, just to gain a little lift?
