P.S. use the por15 all over under your sport,then just spary paint over it.I think it come in black,but all I use is silver at work. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

I've been using POR 15 for about 10 years and it is a great product, however I have had little sucess with painting over it once it is cured. It comes in sevral colours and if you want to use it was an under coat go with the gloss black, it will dull over time but still look good, if you try to paint over it the paint will eventually chip and flake away.

The two thing I've found that my sporty has in common with my MG's is they both like to attract rust and the electris are less than perfect, i swear when MG went tits up in 82 all the enginers moved to Korea!

Bedliner on the flares will probably be next after I finish my bumper. [just got new tires on Friday Dick Cepek FCIIs in 31" - frikkin' AWESOME in snow - especially considering I have a blown hub and no 4WD at the moment...)

Being here in the rust belt, we're also familiar with POR-15. They're at car shows and stuff a lot. You can get quite a few colors now, including clear and hi-temp. It IS reccommended that if you want to topcoat it with something else, you do so while it's still tacky, because as mentioned above, nothing sticks to it once it's cured. It's also a real bear to get off if it ends up where you don't want it.

Well I finally went with the J.C.Whitney generic surface mount(NOT LIP MOUNT) fender flares. They are item #ZX141414W at $39.99 a pair. They are 2 1/4" in width (just wish that they were a 3"). The color is black and I think that they do the job. Although they don't come with anything else. This is just one flare and ....relatively simple looking, But really sturdy. This side profile shows the medium 30" tires to be well covered.

I'm still working on the back...like this morning. I used 8-18x3/4 self drilling screw hex washer ---sheet metal screws. I also used #10 sae-zinc flat washers for between <spaced about every 5 inches> Could have covered to the frame but liked the current trim.. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
