Getting the Wheeling Fever

I live in San Diego and I bought a jerry-can a month ago and i was told that only the ones with the "stupid plastic supposed to be spillproof when you pour gasoline "cap are legal to be sold in CA. but it leaked all over the place even when i was not using it. i would like to get one with the metal cap or if there is something else that is better? is there a website where i could get one?
